2 Days in Amsterdam
Keli and I at it again, this time in Amsterdam. We spent just a long weekend in what soon would be one of my very favorite weekend spots.
-Took train from AMS to our hotel (NH Barbizon Palace)
-Went out sightseeing
-Anne Frank House (or Huis)
-Visited coffee shops and Red Light District at night and enjoyed the nightlife
-Van Gogh Museum
Upon arriving in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) started Day 1. Transport from AMS to Central Station is relatively easy. There is a direct railway line between the two. It’s the fastest and most convenient way to get into the city and train runs about every 10 minutes. Click here for info.
After getting off the train, we made our way to the hotel (NH Barbizon Palace). It was nice, comfortable and convenient.
Upon unpacking, off we went to do some sight-seeing.
Dancing houses at Damrak…
420 Cafe…Lots of walking and decent weather for it…
Stopped for a quick bite at Febo.
Amsterdam Centraal station (the Dutch way to spell it).
Then toured the Anne Frank House/Museum. There’s so much history; It was quite fascinating to hear and some of it so very sad. I definitely recommend a visit.
While standing in line I noticed this interesting tattoo…chemical element for Neon…huh.
Keli and I…
More sightseeing. There are so many cute little places. This one was at Armbrug & Oudezijds Voorburgwal.
In front of the Rijksmuseum. There was no chance to get a solo pic. Tons of people with the same idea. 🙂
A quick nap back in the room then out again to take in more and perhaps visit a few “coffee shops” and the Red Light District.
Keli & I had a really had a fun time, met a lot of fun people.
Had breakfast and off we went to the Van Gogh Museum.
Then on to more sightseeing…
Basilica of St. Nicholas
Royal Palace Amsterdam
Dam Square, NH Hotel Krasnapolsky
And on to more walking… For my friend Adam…
and this sign was so… Amsterdam. 🙂
That evening we had to depart Amsterdam and head home. 🙁
Would have liked to have seen-
-Gone in the Rijksmuseum
-Rembrandt House Museum
